Background...
Beginning in 1999, I worked for 10 years as a gardener/apprentice for Barry Archung Fine Gardens, assessing proposed worksites, prioritizing workflow, developing plans (including hardscape), and specifying, selecting and installing plant material. In 2010 after earning the ISA Certified Arborist credential, I started my business as a contract tree climber, installing bracing, pruning and removing large trees. I completed the process of earning my Master Gardener Certification from the University of Vermont in 2011. While running my tree business, I attended Boston Architectural College and in 2017 completed a two year certificate program of accredited college courses in Planting Design. I appreciate and enjoy the left/right brained endeavor of designing landscapes and gardens because it requires understanding plant and soil biology, basic ecological science and sound design principles. The results are ‘living’ art projects that evolve throughout seasons and over years. Trees are an integral component in the landscape which are occasionally beyond what most homeowners care to manage themselves. Since earning the ISA Certified Arborist credential in 2010 I actively pursue advanced education in this field. I participated in the inaugural ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (formally TRACE) and have maintained it since 2015. I am a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists and have earned and maintain a Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualification credential through the (ASCA) since 2013. I have experience consulting as a client advocate in litigation and insurance matters.
